The block of 53rd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues will be home to not only the Baccarat Hotel and Condo, but also a new residential spire designed by Jean Nouvel. The 1,050 tower, which has been approved by the City Planning Commission, will reportedly be 78-stories with 480,000 SF of residential space sitting atop a 92,000 SF hotel, and will include both a restaurant and space for MoMA . While neither the tallest new building to hit the skyline nor offering coveted park views, the project’s architect and its connection to the renowned museum will likely it as attractive to buyers as 432 Park Avenue and One 57.
